Thank you! The post was written pre-Covid, so just make sure everything’s open, etc. I’d hate to put you wrong on anything! Your trip sounds fabulous. -Megan

Can’t wait to start the journey with 4 boys/males in tow (all backseat drivers). Note the 2-3 nights in places to be able to interact with the locals and make memories.

France is a wonderful country with neat people. We drove Northern France, Germany, Czeche republic and Northern Italy and after reading your blog maybe the South of France will be next. Also Delwyn, car was a charmer, thank you.

I have started using rail on personal trips, can leave home with an eight kilo bag and return with 20 plus kg six weeks later, after 14 flights and 6 large train trips, 6 Universities, trade fairs, art museums, walks around cities on evenings off. I was lucky enough to get a Govt Research grant and came home having spent about 85% of it. That was a hard trip, I asked 5 professional friends to come with me, all thought it would be a hard trip, it was, but worth it, none came with me. I went around to places I had not been to before. I did that when I was 75.
Be challenged, do it! I can still remember our first Peugeot EuroLease those many, many years ago.

We spoke to Delwyn last year & booked our car, a manual peugeot & also picked up at Orly airport, Paris. We drove through France (August/Sept) & dropped our car off in Rome, Italy after driving 6000+kms over 6 weeks. We loved our wee car, it was very hard to leave behind after such a fabulous run with it. Thanks Delwyn for all your advice & we totally agree with you on your handy hints. We avoided driving in all major cities & booked accommodation on the outskirts of big cities & either caught a bus or train then walked. Thanks Megan, always enjoy reading your blogs, very informative.
