Yes, I guess it’s buyer beware. But as long as negative reviews are also posted – which are not on so many booking sites!

It seems they are now trying to compete with AirBnB so it’s more of a lucky dip what you get. In the past you could always be sure that a place was pretty much as it was described and the reviews were very accurate – that was what I liked about them. Unfortunately it’s hard to tell now whether you’re getting a ‘proper’ hotel/guest house or just a room in someone’s home.
